Guangzhou Day 5 part 2

So, what happens now? We leave bright and early in the morning - Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! We will fly to Hong Kong and then will spend Thanksgiving night in CA with my aunt and uncle and cousins. They have gone through all kinds of trouble to make sure that we will spend the day with them, and they've even planned a Thanksgiving feast for us at the Marriott - what a treat! We can't wait to see them, and we especially can't wait to get off of that plane after having been on it for 13 hours - please pray that Lexie will sleep for most of it!!

As soon as the plane's wheels hit the runway, our Lexie becomes an American citizen!! We will have to wait in the immigration line when we land, which can be a bit of a wait, but will be well worth it. I just can't wait to get rid of the package we're carrying for them!!!

So, tonight was farewell to all of our friends. After all we've been through together, it was very hard to say goodbye. Those who started off as strangers shared what was one of our family's most intimate moments. It's as if they were all in the delivery room with us; we share a bond that will never be broken - a bond that none of us will ever be able to forget. This journey has led us across the world, to each other, and together to our girls. I feel very blessed to have shared this with so many beautiful, loving people.

Lexie was "on" at dinner and was her typical self - socializing with everyone, blowing kisses, giving kisses on cheeks, waving, shaking hands. She has stolen the hearts of many and everyone said - oh Lexie, we sure will miss you, what a character. It has been such a treat to see the joy and laughter she has brought to this small part of the world. I hope she will be comfortable soon at home so that you all will see her personality. She will probably want to shake your hand, so beware. :-) Maybe she's a politician in the making, who knows?
