We had the most incredible weekend this past weekend. Two of the families that we met on our trip to China, one and a half years ago, came to visit for four days. It was such a great reunion for the girls, and we promised that we would get together every year, or at least every 2 years so that the girls maintain the connection to thier hometown of Nanchang. It will be so important for them, at some point in their lives to have that connection to their roots, so we have committed to each other that we will always get the Nanchang "sisters" together as they grow up. The girls played incredibly well together, barely a squabble the entire weekend. They were all so sweet to each other, and we (the parents) had a great time reliving some of the most intense memories of our lives. We share a bond that few people share, and I hope that we will always remain this close. We joked about it saying that we were all in the delivery room with each other, and that was about as intimate as that moment was - when we were given our daughters in China. So, we retold stories, laughed about some of the crazy things, and people, that we remembered from China, compared stories about what the girls were up to now, shared hopes and dreams with each other, and just enjoyed the company of great great friends. God knew what he was doing when he put us in that same travel group; thank goodness!
